BlackBerry-ApplicationsOne thing many people ask, is how do I install applications and an even bigger question how exactly do you un-install an application.

To install applications you have 2 options, you can either install applications OTA (Over The Air) using the BlackBerry browser, by following designated links.

Or by using the Application Loader within the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Their are a few more steps to this process.

1. Open the Application Loader.

2. Choose Add/Remove ApplicationsAdd App

3. Choose Browse if the application you want is not listed. (If it is listed, then simply check the box and choose next)

Listed Apps

4. Find the .ALX that you want to install. In order to install a file using the Desktop Manager you need the ALX and COD files for that particular program.

ALX File

5.  After you find the ALX file it will be added with a check box to the list in step three. Hit next and the Desktop Manager will tell you, your device will be updated with the desired software.

Alternatively you can remove applications using the Desktop Manager by removing the Check Box from the application and press next.

In order to remove applications from Blackberry.

The steps below were done using OS 4.5, if you are running anything newer you will be able to simply highlight the home screen icon hit the menu key and choose delete, that will delete the application for you. That is far simpler and a lot more convenient then the previous method listed below.

1. Go into your Options

App Options

2. Go into Advanced Options

Advanced Ops

3. Go into Applications

Apps

4. Highlight the desired application, hit the menu key and choose delete.

Now one thing you might notice is certain applications listed, are in bold and that is nothing to worry about, their is nothing wrong with the application. It simply means the Application Permissions have been changed.
